Course enrolment for the Fall/Winter session starts in July, and in March for the Summer session. To help plan for course enrolment, click here. You can use the resources on the Faculty of Arts and Science webpage to understand some of the U of T terminology, what delivery modes mean, and the steps you can expect to take to be prepared for course enrolment.
You are encouraged to take required courses at your current academic level when they are being offered throughout your progression.
All courses taken under a subject, which is cross-listed or held with a course within your academic plan, will count towards that plan and its average. So, a course cross-listed or held with CAR will count as a CAR course.
These courses count as separate, different courses as long as the topics are different. For example, if you took two CAR329 - Special Topics in Caribbean Studies courses, one on “Caribbean Freedom” and the other on “Revolution and Culture in Cuba”, they could both count towards a Caribbean Studies plan as they are different courses.
If you require assistance enrolling in a course, please email julie.thomson@utoronto.ca. Your email should include your name, U of T email address, Student ID number, and the course code and title you would like to enrol.
In some instances, students may be permitted to audit a Caribbean Studies course. This is at the discretion of the Director and the course instructor. Active students are encouraged to enrol in the course rather than audit.
If you are interested in enrolling or auditing a course, please email Julie Thomson.
CCS students can connect with the Registrar's Office for Academic Advising appointments as well as questions and concerns about all aspects of your academic life.
Please note that the centre can only assist with CCS courses and academic plans (specialist, major, minor). For courses and plans in other subjects, please contact the advising team in that subject.
